Asian Beef Burgers

These Beef Burgers are so much more than just kid-fare. All dressed up with one of the Terrific Toppers featured in the recipe and these beef burgers make a most memorable meal!

 1 lb (500 g) Lean Ground Beef
 0.25 cup dry bread crumbs
 2 green onions, thinly sliced
 2 tbsp sodium-reduced soy sauce
 1 tbsp finely grated gingerroot
 1 egg, lightly beaten
 0.25 tsp EACH salt and pepper
Pineapple Pepper Salsa
 1 cup small pineapple chunks
 1 sweet red pepper, chopped
 0.50 cup minced red onion
 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
 2 tbsp EACH lime juice, olive oil and minced fresh cilantro
 0.25 tsp EACH salt and pepper

Lightly combine beef, bread crumbs, onions, soy sauce, ginger root, egg, salt and pepper.

Gently form into four 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick patties.

Grill over medium-high heat on lightly oiled grill for 10 to 14 minutes, turning twice, until digital thermometer inserted sideways into centre of each patty reads 160°F (71°C).

Pineapple Salas

Combine all of the salsa ingredients together in a small bowl. Note: Salsa can be made ahead. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Top each cooked burger with 2 tbsp of pineapple salsa.
