Canada Beef - Committed to telling the Canadian beef story

Leveraging Positive Beef Nutrition Research

At the end of December 2012, an important health study was released and created a fair bit of buzz in nutrition circles. The study, "The Global Burden of Disease Study (2010)", published in the very high profile journal Lancet, was an examination of a variety of factors with the goal of estimating each one's relative contribution to disease and disability. It is the largest systematic study ever compiled to look at this.

Each year Canada Beef Inc. attends consumer and trade events throughout the United States to increase awareness and understanding of the Canadian Beef Advantage (CBA) across the border. Canada Beef continues to be involved with The American Culinary Federation (ACF) events to educate and communicate directly with chefs on Canadian beef advantages and how those advantages align with the foodservice sector in the United States. Longo's Supermarket Launches Canadian Prime Beef Line

Longo's may not be a familiar name to many Canadian beef producers outside Ontario but that may soon change. As of February 2012 the Ontario grocery chain has partnered with Canada Beef Inc. to launch a new Canadian Prime beef line. With 27 stores in Ontario, 4,000 employees and an eight-year run as one of the Financial Post newspaper's 'Top 50 privately managed companies in Canada,' Longo's has "built a reputation on a strong commitment to quality, service and value" that has allowed them to expand their business in the greater-Toronto area since the first store opened in 1962. It also means the chain's desire to create a new high-end, fresh Canadian beef program is a natural fit.
